Who is behind PSADT-Package Forge
PSADT-Package Forge is developed at DBLAN in Rheinfelden (Baden), Germany. Damian Jan Brausch is responsible — development, support and documentation are in one pair of hands. That means short paths and a contact person who knows the product. It also means that scope and response times are those of a small company. Both are part of the decision.
From more than twenty years of systems management
DBLAN was founded in 2004 and has worked on system and IT lifecycle management ever since: process consulting, project work and its own software products — "software by and for IT experts". These products include the DML-Manager, which automates software imports for Broadcom Symantec platforms, a LogViewer for Windows event logs, and the service desk tool IT-Operator.
PSADT-Package Forge brings together what was created there separately: the central package repository, log analysis and package creation. What forms the user interface today started out as tools for our own use.
The DBLAN Software Management Framework, which defines consistent names for packages, groups and roles, comes from the same practical work. It may be used freely; the rights to it remain with DBLAN.
Fields of use and references
DBLAN's tools are in use at public authorities, healthcare institutions, financial service providers and in industry, among others — in environments with high demands on traceability.
Some of these customers also use PSADT-Package Forge.

What this means in practice
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What happens to my packages if DBLAN no longer exists? | The tool produces regular PSADT packages with Invoke-AppDeployToolkit.ps1. They are readable, versionable and can be edited with any text editor. There is no proprietary format. |
| Is data transmitted to DBLAN? | Only during licence activation and the update check, and only the details listed there. Packages, scripts and logs stay in your own network. |
| Where are the packages stored? | Wherever you specify — locally or on a share. There is no cloud storage. |
| How is the software developed further? | Traceably, in the version overview and in the change history of the documentation — with version number and date for every release. |
